I dream of kissing you the only problem is
It’s not you I’m kissing but the clouds
Pink, unstable, neurotic little things

Seduction Tactics
So Holly and I went to get some eatins' at Lane. And naturally, the conversation turned to seduction. We decided that women really have the innate power of seduction, and all the guys really have to do is wait for a girl to work her magic.
The conversation continued as we walked home, until we were on the steps of Macinnis. Opening the door, I said loudly, "I'm not easily seduced. I know every trick in the book." And there before me stood a handsome, dark haired, blue eyed boy, his hand outstretched.
He cocked an eyebrow at me. "I was going for it," he said, and walked out the door.

Boston Buddy #1
Holly
Holly lives downstairs, with my R.A., Chelsea. When we met, she was wearing glasses. I thought she looked intelligent. Here are some things you should know about Holly:
1) She has slightly red, short, sexy hair.
2) She has bionic green eyes.
3) She likes using random German phrases such as "Glucklich" or "swanzig" or "bitta" or "ganz toll" in everyday conversation.
4) Holly does not speak German
5) She does, however, listen to German techno.
6) And Indian techno. (Chickens!)
7) Some techno, she puts on mix tapes.
8) She names these tapes "Megamixes"
9) She gives them to Meg
10) Holly has an ex-boyfriend
11) He also has red hair
12) He still makes her mix tapes that put "The Starlight Mix" to shame
13) But they do not have such cool titles.
14)Those mixtapes contain songs such as "She blinded me with science"
15) When boys walk by, she will often say "I am blinded by science!"
16) Other times, she will say "I am totally crushing!"
17) She is a self-proclaimed "serial crusher"
18) She hearts The Postal Service.
19) No, not mailmen!
20) Occasionally, she will speak entirely in an eastern european accent.
21) I'm aware that I made her out to sound pretty strange.
22) And she is pretty strange.
23) And pretty cool.
24) And pretty.
25) Yay Holly!
The away message:
"I'm working on a paper. But you can leave me a message because I'm incredibly hot."
The responses:
Jimmy: yes, yes thats a good reason to leave you a message
Holly: meg is sooooo hot!
Jeffrey: mmm...that's not appropriate Gordon language
Arvind: you took the words right out of my mouth
Writing away messages for the sole purpose of eliciting responses is an art.
And I, my dears, am Rembrandt.
Concerts I get to see in the next two months because I am cooler than you:
Over the Rhine (Tuesday!)
Dan Bern (The 21st)
Sondre Lerche (Novemberish)
Belle and Sebastian (I forget!)
Also, I am a slacker. If ya'll are into prayin' and such, pray that I not be such a slacker.
I rule! Goodnight everybody!

“Now listen here, Samuel. I don’t consider myself an editor. My dream is not to become an editor. I am a writer. I want to be a writer.”
“You’re a writer who doesn’t write. A writer who doesn’t finish anything- who starts things and promises herself that this time it is going to be different- that this time she will finish it, but it always gets interrupted by the next great idea. You are lazy. There is no such thing as a lazy writer.”
“Sure there is.”
“No, there isn’t.”

each one is a setting sun
Lists!
1) I beat that English 110 exam into the ground! That's right, ladies and gents, as all suspected except me, I did, in fact, waive the introductory English requirement due to my fabulous essay on how to write an essay, which included fabulous illustrations supposing that "Little Red Riding Hood" was a veiled Communist allegory.
Oh, the things you can support with textural evidence these postmodern days!
2) I found this online, and it made me cringe and very happy all at once. Now that I am nineteen, I feel so far away from 3rd grade, where I was going to be a singer and my favorite food was beef stroganoff. I've certainly grown up, no?
3) I really, really, love life, a lot. I know it breaks everyone's hearts, but I love it.
4) Yes, I miss you! Yes, you!
